Asia equities follow US higher after debt ceiling vote triggers gains

Katie Petrelius, a top White House official who oversaw fundraising for Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign and has been responsible for his presidential appointments while in office, is leaving the administration.

Petrelius helped the president select US ambassadors around the world, as well as other top positions within the government, including members of his export council and council of advisers on science and technology.

Her role as deputy director of presidential personnel made her a link between the White House and its allies outside the government.

Petrelius has close ties with Democratic donors around the country, having served as national finance director for Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
