Housing: How issues have changed in 1H

Issuance of housing bonds for the first half of the year was at $22.243 billion in 357 issues, up 31.7% from 1H 2023’s figure of $16.891 billion in 381 issues.

Volume rose in both the first and second quarters, with the former rising to $9.695 billion in Q1, up 28.8% year-over-year, and the latter increasing to $12.547 billion, up 34% from Q2 2023.

Single-family housing issuance rose 60.9% to $14.015 billion in 1H 2023, while multifamily housing ticked up 0.6% to $8.227 billion.
