Wilmington Trust’s Eric Fischer to retire

Eric Fischer, managing director in Wilmington Trust’s Global Capital Markets division will retire effective June 30.

Fischer was instrumental in the growth of Wilmington Trust’s escrow and public finance businesses in the Northeast and the tender option bond and structured municipal businesses nationally, the institution said.

Eric Fischer, managing director in Wilmington Trust’s Global Capital Markets division is retiring after 35 years in public finance.

Fischer spent over 35 years in corporate trust with a diverse operational, administrative, marketing and sales background. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, he was senior vice president at U.S. Bank, where he was responsible for new business development in the Northeast for the global corporate trust division.

Prior to that, Fischer worked at Security Pacific National Trust Company, Bank of New York, and U.S. Trust Company where he specialized in structured finance, mortgage custody, commercial paper, public finance, and corporate finance.

His responsibilities and market coverage will be split by Evan Pizzuto, who will take over TOBs and M&A escrow services and Mary Alice Avery, who will handle public finance and M&A escrow services. Courtney Allin will play a supporting role.
