Adele Purchased Sylvester Stallone’s L.A. Compound For $58 Million—Under One Condition

It turns out, Rocky has one very famous, and perhaps unexpected, fan.

The “Easy On Me” singer purchased Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone’s sprawling Los Angeles compound in 2022 for a reported $58 million—a massive discount compared to the original asking price of $110 million. However, in a recent interview with WSJ, Stallone said that she would purchase the home under one condition: that she kept the Rocky statue by the pool. When asked if he wanted to keep the statue, he told WSJ: ““I did. But she said, ‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal,’” Stallone explained. “She wanted the statue. I like what she’s doing; she’s making it gorgeous.”

A $58 million tear-down might seem over-the-top but in tinseltown, anything is possible. TMZ recently reported that Adele is gutting the entire home for a full renovation, even removing the entire second story. The home is located within Beverly Park, an exclusive area in the mountains of Beverly Hills known for attracting privacy-seeking celebrities, and it was the longtime home of Stallone, soon-to-be ex-wife of 25 years, Jennifer Flavin, and their three daughters. The neighborhood’s past and current residents include Denzel Washington, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and Mark Wahlberg, to name a few.

Stallone first purchased the property in the 1990s and built a 21,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion, which is now partially torn down. The 3.5-acre parcel was far from a fixer-upper. The main residence had eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, an office, library, gourmet kitchen, dining room with hand-painted walls that resemble a castle, a full bar, and a cigar room. There’s also a somewhat recent addition of a guest house by renowned architect Richard Landry. It’s a detached home with two bedrooms and ample living space.

Over the years, the family redid the home to have a more contemporary feel by adding handmade floor-to-ceiling steel windows. Outside, there’s a large pool that appears to be intact—Rocky statue and all—and a putting green, built-in spa, massive sun deck, and expansive lawns with some of the most incredible and far-reaching views in the area. There was also an eight-car, air-conditioned garage, several loggias and terraces, a movie screen in the family room, lovely entertaining spaces, and high ceilings that make the home feel exceptionally large.

It’s unclear what Adele has planned for the design of the home, but it looks as though she officially has Stallone’s seal of approval. Turns out, Adele is a Rocky superfan, and even revealed how much she loves the movie franchise in a 2021 interview with Vogue. Reports have been published saying that Adele is apparently raking in an astounding $2 million (approximately) per night for her ongoing Las Vegas residency, which will run on weekends through November. No wonder she can afford a $58 million tear-down.

Stallone is best known for creating the Rocky franchise, which kicked off with a film co-written by and starring himself in 1976. There have been five additional Rocky spin-off movies between 1979 and 2006. He also reprised the role of Rocky Balboa in 2018’s Creed II, which he co-wrote as well.
